Backup

Backup

We highly recommend backing up your translation data regularly. This data includes translation memories (TMs), termbases (TBs), and translated files. Regularly backing up ensures you can recover your work in case of unexpected errors.

  • Automatic Backups:

The application provides a convenient way to back up your data automatically every time you close it. Simply click the "Backup" button before closing. Backups are automatically saved in the "Cache" folder with the current date included in the filename (e.g., "goucat_2024-04-20.data").

  • Restoring from Backup:

If you encounter an error and need to restore your data, you can use the most recent backup. Here's how:

1      Locate the Backup: Find the backup file you want to use in the "Cache" folder. It will likely be named with the current date (e.g., "goucat_2024-04-20.data").

2      Rename the Backup: Rename the backup file to "goucat.data" (without the date).

3      Copy the File: Copy the renamed backup file ("goucat.data") into the "Backup" folder (if it exists in your application directory).
