Diplomatic Training for Historians

Objective:
To handle the basic work with mediaeval diplomatic material, be able to read, transcribe, translate and analyses texts of charters, have an overview of the genesis, classification and criticism of charters and other diplomatic categories (mandates, letters, official books, files and accounts).

- Basic diplomatic categories – genesis, classification, criticism
- Charter – technical and internal attributes
- Mandate – technical and internal attributes
- Letter – technical and internal attributes
- Official book – technical and internal attributes
- File – technical and internal attributes
- Accounts – technical and internal attributes
- False documents
Graduation requirements:
- Regular participation and active involvement in seminars, completion of assigned tasks, including a seminar paper in which the student will study certain sources of a diplomatic nature. The seminar paper, on the basis of which the student will receive an assessment, must be submitted during the examination period.
- Number of acceptable absences: 2.
