Prof.Roman Holec specializes in economic, social and political history of the “long” nineteenth century. He has authored 17 monographs and almost 200 scientific studies, co-authored 22 synthesizing works, published in 12 countries. He delivered more than 150 lectures in 25 various countries, and organized 5 sessions at world historical congresses. He participated on European ESF and VW-Stiftung grants, and has led international collaborative grants and IVF grants. He is the holder of E. E. Kisch Prize (twice), J. M. Hurban Prize and LF Prize. Among his doctoral students are scientists from Japan, the Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary.
