Objective:

The goal is to explain the position of museology in the system of sciences and its different conception in the world context. Introduction of basic philosophical aspects and current trends.

The theory of the collection object, museology and museology

The theory of thesauration
Theory of museum communication
Evolution of the museum phenomenon in diachronic and synchronic context
The position of museology in the system of sciences and the paradigm of science
Philosophical-theoretical approach to the museum phenomenon
Heritology, sozology, monumentology, monumentalism
Relations and trends of modern social sciences
Personalities of theoretical museology
Central European School of Museology
Methodology of museology, methods of museological research,
Contemporary trends under the influence of Western approaches

Graduation Requirements:

The instructor will accept a maximum of 2 absences.
Final sixty-minute quiz.
