Aim of the course:

Students will acquire knowledge about the work and specifics of museum institutions of technical character and technical monuments in Slovakia.

Brief outline:

structure of technical museums
genesis of technical museums in the world
mining museums in nature
technical monuments in open-air museums
technical monuments in situ
technical monuments in museum collections
programmes for the public in technical museums

Course requirements:
Seminar paper on a selected technical museum to be handed in the last week of class and its presentation, small assignments for the class.
