Selected problems of auxiliary historical sciences 1 and 2
or take a look directly at the workshop of professionals
The subject is taught by:
1: prof. PhDr. Juraj Šedivý, MAS, PhD. and doc. PhDr. Frederik Federmayer, PhD.
2: Mgr. Balázs Csiba, PhD. and Mgr. Martina Orosová, PhD.
Teaching method: lecture with seminar (L:1.5 / S:0.5)
ECTS: 4
Objective:
This is a pedagogical format similar to the so-called privatissimum at Western universities. The graduate will gain a glimpse into the "author's workshop" of the selected teacher (either oriented towards older history - J. Šedivý / or focused on more recent history - F. Federmayer). Together with the teacher, the graduate will be able to follow not only his/her procedures and methodology, but also interactively enter into a creative dialogue, using his/her previous knowledge from auxiliary historical sciences (connected with digitization and digital humanities). Lectures with a seminar will not take the form of monological education, but will have the informal form of an interactive workshop solving current problems and topics on which the selected teacher and student(s) work (or even cooperate). It will focus on issues that transcend one discipline (interdisciplinarity), current trends and the latest knowledge from practice (the participation of external experts from practice is taken into account). The goal is to work with students in an individual way outside of traditionally used schemes.
Brief outline:
- Introductory colloquium
- Examples of good practice in the selected field of PVH (either older or more recent historical period)
- Innovative methods in analyses using PVH
- Work in progress or insight into the kitchen of authors and students
- Interdisciplinarity and linking of knowledge and methods of selected PVH
- Workshop and presentations
Recommended literature:
Will be specified during the semester according to the topics of the selected teacher and students.
