or the adventure of discovering archives and museums begins

Objective:
The subject is intended for the bachelor's degree in archival science and museology. Students complete it in 10 working days of six hours each at the Slovak National Archives or the Slovak National Museum. The aim of the practice is to familiarize students with the organizational structure of an archive or museum, professional activities carried out by individual departments, while they participate in them according to the guidance of archive and museum staff. After the practice, each student receives an evaluation from the relevant memory institution on attendance at the practice, activities carried out and the student's activity.

- Familiarization with the archival and museum institution, its history and current organizational structure.
- Familiarization with the professional activities of individual departments:
- pre-archival care and acquisition activities of the archive
- making archival files accessible
- providing services to the public, research work
- digitization, conservation and restoration of archival documents
- depository regime and protection of collection items
- museum documentation
- museum exposition and exhibition activities
- museum programs for visitors
Requirements for graduation:
- Regular attendance at the internship, two missed days are accepted.
- Active fulfilment of assigned tasks (50%).
- Report on the course of the internship, activities performed and evaluation from a professional point of view (50%).
