Aim of the course:

Students will gain knowledge about the typology of museums in Slovakia, their brief history and get acquainted with selected museums and galleries from different parts of Slovakia.

Brief outline:

Introduction to the issue - definition, typology, legal norms, nationwide institutions, Slovak National Museum - establishment and branches, Museums and galleries of individual regions

Course requirements:

• active participation (max. 2 absences)
• presentation about a selected Slovak museum/gallery during the semester
• final test, in which the student must obtain at least 60% success rate
