Objective:
The result of the education is to introduce and explain to students the concept and diversity of museum communication, which is realized mainly in the form of expositions, exhibitions and museum pedagogical programs, but also in virtual space. The basic division between "in situ" and "in fondo" will be subjected to professional critique using a number of domestic and international examples. Listeners will be introduced to basic museological and museographic procedures in the preparation of museum and archival presentations.
Brief outline:
- Theories of museum communication in relation to the nature of the museum.
- Specifics of museum communication, exhibition as a sign system.
- Types of museum communication and its forms (exhibition, exposition), means of expression and information.
- Accompanying communication, editorial undertakings.
- Research and audience breakdown.
- Process of preparing presentation activities (libretto, script, technical script, exhibition installation).
- Modern technology in presentation.
Graduation Requirements:
- The instructor will accept a maximum of 2 absences.
- Final sixty-minute quiz.
