Aim of the course:

Students will acquire up-to-date knowledge about trends, interesting facts and the current situation in the field of museology, monumentology and monument conservation in Slovakia and in the European context.

Brief outline:

Current trends in the restoration of historical buildings
Conversions and adaptations of monuments for cultural purposes
Industrial architecture
New museology, cooperation of museums and galleries with the public
New museums
Contemporary practices in the preservation and restoration of movable monuments
Possibility of excursions / guest lectures

Course requirements:

attendance - active participation in classes, max 2 unexcused absences
Seminar paper submitted in the last week of the semester and its presentation
