Mgr. Ivana Labancová studied history and Slovak language and literature at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University. During her MA studies she spent a semester in the framework of Erasmus+ at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. She defended her MA thesis, Františkánske kázne z archívu minoritov v Levoči (Franciscan Sermons in the Archives of Friars Minor in Levoča) in 2017, awarded Rector’s Prize. She joined the Department of Slovak History as a doctoral student in 2017. The topic of her dissertation is Slovak-language Franciscan Sermons in Upper Hungary (eastern Slovakia), under the supervision of Prof. Martin Homza.
