Associate Professor Nina Cingerová studied at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava. She completed her Master's degree in Russian Language and Culture, and German Language and Culture and her PhD in Slavonic Studies. In the period between her master's and doctoral studies, she worked as an editor of the foreign department at the daily Hospodárske noviny, since the end of her doctoral studies she has been working at the Department of Russian and East European Studies as an assistant professor, and since 2020 as an associate professor in Slavic languages and literatures. In 2020 – 2023 she was the head of the department. She is a member of the departmental committee of the doctoral study programme in Slavonic Studies, a member of the departmental committee of the doctoral study programme in Translatology, a co-guarantor of the doctoral study programme in Translatology and a member of the Medialinguistic Commission at the International Committee of Slavists. She lectures in linguistic disciplines, conducts seminars on methodology and translation, and focuses her scientific activity primarily on the analysis of the specifics of Russian public discourse. She authored/co-authored two monographs and four university textbooks. She is co-author of two studies in books published in English by Routledge and Palgrave Macmillan. After finishing her PhD studies in 2012, she was, or is, a researcher of several projects KEGA and VEGA and of an APVV project. She currently participates in the ENLIGHT Rise networking project. Since May 2023 she has been the Vice Dean for Scientific Research and Doctoral Studies.
