Mgr. Szilárd Sebők, PhD.
Szilárd Sebők attained his M.A. degree in Aesthetics and Hungarian Language and Literature in the Comenius University in Bratislava. He received his Ph.D. in General Linguistics from the same university in 2016. After his studies he worked as a translator and editor in The News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) and since 2018 he is a lecturer at the Department of Hungarian Language and Literature of the Comenius University in Bratislava. He teaches courses related to translation, descriptive linguistics and Hungarian as a foreign language. His main areas of interest are metalanguage, metalinguistics, language ideologies, linguistic methodology and language problems. Currently, Szilárd Sebők leads an international project on language problems of Hungarians living outside Hungary and he also participates in another project related to language and communication problems in Slovakia and their management.
