About the Program

The program of Central European Studies ofers studies of foreign languages of the Central European area and the cross-cultural studies of the regions of Central Europe in the bachelor degree. The language of instruction is English. To succeed in the studies, English on the B2 level of the European reference framework is requested.

The main target of the studies is to master the languages, as well as social and cultural aspects of the Central European area. The graduates will have mastered at two languages of the region (with the options of Hungarian, German, Polish, Slovenian, Slovak as a foreign language/secon language) at the level corresponding with the needs of general communication both in spoken and written form. Knowledge of Polish, Slovenian, Hngarian and Slovak is not necessary, level B1 is required to study German, German and Hungarian study groups will only start with a minimum of 5 students. 

During the studies, students have an opportunity to visit several Central European countries during the field trips. Students may also use the opportunity of numerous mobility programs supported by the Comenius University and spend 1 or 2 semesters of the studies at other selected university of the region.
