Mgr. Tabita Sara Elijaš

Tabita Sara Elijaš (*1995, Chicago, USA) studied at the Ján Kollar Gymnasium and Dormitory in Bački Petrovac, Serbia. She graduated from the Department of Musicology at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava with her master´s thesis titled Inspirations of French Impressionism in Slovak Compositions of the First Half of the 20th Century under the under the guidance of prof. PhDr. Ľubomíra Chalupku, PhD. She is currently a doctoral student at the Department of Musicology where she also works as a librarian. In the year 2019 she took part in the student festival Roche Continents in Salzburg. Tabita dedicates her studies to music of the end of the 19th and 20th century with emphasis on French impressionism. She specifically addresses the relationship of impressionism to other arts (visual, literary) as well as to other music eras, specifically to Slovak music of the 20th century. From 2017 she leads a project called Fusion Bratislava (an amateur youth pop-rock choir). Under the guidance of doc. Mgr. Vladimír Zvara, PhD. and consultant Dr. Marcus Zagorski she is working on her dissertation project titled Depictions of Water in Music.
