Announcement of the new issue of the journal

Topic: Women and WWII

 

Since 2001 the Department of General History, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava has issued Acta Historica Posoniensia, where original papers, reviews, essays, documents and papers from conferences organized by the Department and books of members of the Department are published. Within this collection, a separate annual Journal Judaica et Holocaustica has been published, that is dealing history of Jews and the Holocaust. Until now there have been published seven issues. 

The main goal of the yearbook is present original studies and papers that represent new research for understanding the topic: Women and WWII. Editors of the annual Journal are E. Nižňanský and D. Nešťáková.

 


Articles are focused on following topics:

·         Sexual violence against women during WWII

·         Prostitution during the WWII

·         Women as perpetrators – perpetrators of war crimes, guards in camps, collaborators, case studies

·         Women in resistance

·         Life of Jewish women in hiding

·         Motherhood during WWII – family life, glorification of motherhood, Lebensborn, forced sterilization

·         Gender studies and Holocaust

·         Relationship between Jewish and non-Jewish women
