Innovative Teaching that Inspires Good Learning

Innovative teaching that inspires good learning. Empowering Practice with GenAI

In the academic year 2024/25, we are offering a course for PhD students, postgraduates, and experienced lecturers that provides both theoretical and practical foundations for university teaching and helps them with using generative artificial intelligence to empower student learning.

The course is delivered in a combination of Slovak and English and consists of eight half-day workshops in the winter semester, followed by a practical component in the summer semester. During the summer, participants apply what they have learned in their own teaching practice, supported by an individual coach. The course facilitators/coaches include experienced professionals from Comenius University, K.U.Leuven, Central European University in Vienna and Zhiva, NGO. We implement the course thanks to a grant from the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission as part of the Universities for Healthy City project.

The programme introduces active teaching methods and innovative approaches to assessment that participants can implement in their courses. It is internationally accredited by the UK’s Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA). All graduates receive an internationally recognised certificate, and PhD students are awarded 5 ECTS credits for each successfully completed semester.

As part of the course, participants also receive guidance and support in preparing an application for the ENLIGHT Innovative Teaching Award.
