Slovak Association for Quality Enhancement in Higher Education
The Slovak Association for Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (AKVV) works to improve the quality of learning in Slovakia through enhancing teaching-related knowledge and skills of university teachers as well as their working conditions. AKVV organises conferences, seminars and other events, it contributes to the discourse related to higher education in Slovakia and the qualifications of higher education teachers and it moreover conducts research in this area.
The AKVV was registered as an NGO by the Slovak Ministry of Interior on 26 April 2021 under the registration number 53638069. The official seat of the AKVV is at Gondova 2, 81102 Bratislava.
Board members of the AKVV are Roman Hrmo (DTI University), Dagmar Kusá (BISLA), Pavlína Kováčová (Catholic University in Ružomberok), Gabriela Pleschová (Comenius University in Bratislava, statutory representative of the AKVV) and Jana Trabalíková (University of Žilina).
Controllers of the AKVV are Jaromír Novák (University of Economics in Bratislava), Ladislav Pasiar (University of Economics in Bratislava; head controller) and Daniela Petríková (Technical University in Košice).
Collective member of the AKVV can be any institution that runs development programmes for university teachers in Slovakia. Current members of the AKVV are the following higher education institutions:
- Bratislava International School of Liberal Arts (BISLA)
- DTI University
- Catholic University in Ružomberok
- Technical University in Košice
- University of Žilina
AKVV is the full member of the International Consortium for Educational Development (ICED), a consortium of associations supporting development of higher education teachers.
The role of the AKVV in BELONG is to coordinate dissemination of project outcomes.
