Teacher training in academic subjects prepares students primarily for the profession of the teacher of German. Graduates are able to impart complex knowledge of German language by modern methods, in the area of practical language proficiency - in speech and writing, as well as the field of the grammar system of the language, cultury and history of the German language area. The study offers courses of  regional studies and history of literature, specialised theoretical language and literary science subjects as well as courses in theory of culture and media. Very important are courses in didactics which enable the students to apply the knowledge and skills in the process of instruction of German.

 

The translator and interpreter in the 21. century is an expert in communication -smart, intelligent, inquisitive, communicating and attentive to details of language. The student of translation and interpreting training learns to translate various sorts of texts from major areas - economy, law, medicine, environment, technology etc. He acquires habits and skills necessary for consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. The studies consist of theoretical disciplines in linguistics, literary science and translation studies (science on translation and interpreting). The key subjects of the studies are taught by pedagogues with excellent interpreting and translation practice, sworn translators and interpreters or experienced translators of fiction.
