Agnes Simon is a political scientist who works as an educational developer in the Center for Scholarship and Teaching (CPP) at Comenius University in Bratislava. She is passionate about teaching and committed to the skills development of higher education teachers and researchers. She focuses on curriculum development, the scholarship of teaching and learning, mentoring, and academic writing in English. She maintains a research agenda in both educational development and political science and has published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in both. Her articles appeared in the Journal of Global Security Studies, Journal of Transatlantic Studies, East European Politics and European Political Science. Her most recent publications include “Trusting through the Moscow-Washington Hotline: A Role Theoretical Explanation of the Hotline’s Contribution to Signal Interpretation and Crisis Stability” with Eszter Simon (2020) and “Doctoral Students as Early Career University Teachers. What Hinders and What Helps them to Embrace the Essentials of Good Teaching?” with Gabriela Pleschová (2021). She has co-edited the books Early Career Academics’ Reflections on Learning to Teach in Central Europe (SEDA, 2018) and Internationalising Teaching in Higher Education. Supporting Peer Learning (TU Delft, 2022).
