M-OTHERING IN THE ANCIENT WORLD – work in progress
Dr. Giulia Pedrucci from the University of Verona, currently a visiting researcher at the Department of Archaeology and Cultural Anthropology, has a long-standing interest in ancient polytheistic religions. She has published a monograph, edited two collective collections and organized a series of three international workshops entitled Religionification of Motherhood and Mothers’ Appropriation of Religion.
M-OTHERING is Giulia Pedrucci's project funded by the EU NextGenerationEU through the Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan. The project focuses on votive statuettes depicting adults with infants in ancient Italy and Greece. Discover how this research sheds new light on the socio-cultural dynamics of the ancient household at the dawn of European history.
The lecture will take place on 15 May 2025 from 10.00 to 11.00 in room G 366.
