V rokoch 1991 – 1996 absolvoval štúdium slovenského jazyka a literatúry a histórie na Filozofickej fakulte Univerzity Komenského (diplomová práca Problematika periodizácie dejín slovenskej literatúry (školiteľ prof. Viliam Marčok). Po absolvovaní vysokoškolského štúdia nastúpil na Katedru slovenskej literatúry a literárnej vedy FF UK ako interný doktorand. Od roku 1998 na katedre pôsobil ako asistent a od roku 1999 ako odborný asistent. Špecializuje sa na problematiku dejín slovenskej literatúry obdobia národného obrodenia a metodológiu literárnej histórie. V roku 1999 obhájil rigoróznu prácu Literárnohistorické pohľady do slovenskej literatúry prvej polovice 19. storočia a získal titul PhDr. V roku 2001 ukončil externé doktorandské štúdium, obhájil dizertačnú prácu Od baroka k romantizmu. Literárne smery a tendencie v slovenskej literatúre v rokoch 1780 – 1840 (školiteľ doc. Ladislav Čúzy) a získal vedeckú hodnosť PhD. V roku 2005 sa stal docentom v odbore teória a dejiny slovenskej literatúry (habilitačná práca Literatúra, literárna história a medziliterárnosť. Bratislava, Univerzita Komenského 2004). Na katedre vedie kurzy a textové semináre z dejín slovenskej literatúry 19. storočia, z dejín literárnej kritiky a historiografie a editorstva. Od roku 2002 je podpredsedom Rady Slovenskej asociácie učiteľov slovenčiny a od roku 2003 zástupcom riaditeľa Studia Academica Slovaca – centra pre slovenčinu ako cudzí jazyk. Od roku 2011 je prodekanom Filozofickej fakulty UK pre bakalárske a magisterské štúdium. Na katedre vykonáva funkciu študijného poradcu.

 

Deputy Director

In 1991 – 1996 he studied Slovak language and literature and history at Faculty of Arts, Comenius University (master thesis: The Problems of Periodization of Slovak Literary History, tutor: professor Viliam Marčok). After graduating from the university, he started his doctoral studies at the Department of Slovak literature and literary science, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University, where he worked as an assistant (1998) and as a lecturer (since 1999). He specializes in Slovak literary history in the period of the National Revival and in methodology of literary history. In 1999 he completed his PhDr. thesis, Literary Historical Insights into the Slovak Literature of the 1st Half of the 19th Century. In 2001 he completed his external PhD. studies (dissertation thesis: From Baroque to Romanticism. Literaty Movements and Tendencies in Slovak Literature 1780 – 1840, tutor: doc. Ladislav Čúzy). In 2005 he became an Associate Professor in theory and history of Slovak literature (inaugural dissertation: Literature, Literary History and Interliterarism. Bratislava, Univerzita Komenského 2004). At the Department he organizes courses and text seminars in the history of Slovak literature of the 19th century, in the history of literary criticism and historiography, and in editorship. Since 2002 he is the Deputy Chairman of the Slovak Association of the Teachers of Slovak Language Committee, and since 2003 the Deputy Director of Studia Academica Slovaca – the Centre for Slovak as a Foreign Language. He is the study counsultant of the Department and since 2011 he is also the vice dean of Faculty of Philosophy for bachelor degree and master degree study.
