Objective:

Students will gain theoretical knowledge of the development of diplomatic practice of the highest Hungarian institutions (Hungarian Royal Chancellery, Hungarian Governor's Council, Hungarian Chamber) and regional authorities in the period 1526 - 1848.

  • Financial administration in Hungary
  • Military administration and military commanders
  • Turkish administration in the occupied territory of Hungary
  • Places of Authentication after 1526
  • Counties and their documents after 1526
  • Cities and their diplomatic production in the modern age
  • Feudal estates and documents of the administration of the manor in the modern age

Graduation Requirements:

  • During the semester: a seminar paper (analysis of a selected source)
  • During the exam period: oral exam. Dates will be posted in AIS no later than the credit week of the semester.
  • Number of acceptable absences: 2.
