Research Topics

The Department members are engaged primarily in research projects that focus on issues relevant in teaching foreign languages for academic and specific purposes. These include specialized lexicology, terminology and semantics, discourse in social science genres, teaching materials design etc.

With regard to current research areas, priority is given to the development of educational materials (textbooks and supplementary material) designed for students of non-philological study programmes, and to topics dealing with language skills and knowledge required for the development of communicative competence in the sphere of social sciences and humanities.

All teachers take part in conferences on various aspects of teaching and learning foreign languages.
