Europa – Erbe der Humanisten

The exhibition Europa – Erbe der Humanisten, prepared by EUNIC Austria in co-operation with the University of Vienna and the Austrian Academy of Sciences, presented a pair of important humanists of each of the 23 participating countries. Slovakia was represented by Valentinus Ecchius and
Johannes Sambucus. The exhibition was originally opend from 20 April to 27 May, 2017. Last year, it moved to Sweden where it opened at the Italian Cultural Institute and also Goethe-Institut. On this occasion, in addition to the physical exhibition, the Goethe-Institut made available the digital publication in German, English, and Swedish. The exhibition will then move to Slovenia. You can read the full publication in German here and in English here. Slovakia is on pp. 46-47 or 48-49 respectively. 

 

 

Greek - Latin - Slavic

The 6th AIMA Conference will be held from 9 to 12 June 2020 in Bratislava, Slovakia, under the theme "Middle and Mixed Arabic: A Typology of Genres and Intended Recipients".

Proceedings Ideológia v premenách času...

Department of Classical and Semitic Philology published the proceedings Ideológia v premenách času v pamiatkach gréckej a latinskej tradície (The Ideology in Time Transformations within the Monuments of Greek and Latin Traditions). The conference was held on the occasion of Prof. Daniel Škoviera's 70th birthday. 

The proceedings is a part of the grant VEGA 1/0627/15.
