1. | Formation of the European Union as a political order ** | In the course of the last decade, the European Union (EU) has been going through a number of fundamental crises bringing about the threat of its disfunction and its falling apart. Nevertheless, the EU as a political order has shown a remarkable degree of adaptability combining ideal-typical features and practices of states and international organizations. Key questions concern what kind of political order is emerging in the EU; what are the implications for democracy in the member states; what are the perspectives for the development of democratic governance in this political order; and how does the political order interact with the international environment. |

However, due to technical limitations and mid-term nature of such energy transition, some member states advocate for other energy sources like nuclear and natural gas. These have low greenhouse gas emissions and thus contribute to EU’s climate goals. Yet, there's disagreement within the EU regarding their utilization. This thesis seeks to analyse the EU's discourse on these energy sources and the factors influencing this debate |
